Volunteers:
The Living Room is currently expanding our community of volunteers. These extraordinary individuals primarily support TLR in one of three ways: fundraising, events and drop-in:
Fundraising, as the name implies, consists of raising funds. If you have experience in grant-writing, gifts management or have a knack for asking people for money, we could use your talents here.
Events like the Alternative Prom, or Gay Straigh Alliance Summit, are special occasions when tabling skills really come-in handy. If you are you friendly, outgoing, organized and good with strangers, this would be a great fit for you.
Drop-in is every Wednesday from 4-8 in Oregon City. This is a great opportunity for those looking to work with the youth directly and can regularly donate 2+ hours per month. We are also looking to expand our programming. If you have a special talent (tutoring, physical fitness prowess in something like yoga or Zumba, knowledge of local queer history, an expertise in the arts, etc.), this could be an outlet to show off those skills.
Additionally, we are seeking advice and support in the legal arts. All interested parties must apply and complete the training prior to starting their new life as a TLR volunteer. Trainings occur on a quarterly basis.
